Get ready to wet a line and catch some of the Gulf Coast's most prized inshore fish on this 4-hour adventure with L'il Time Off Fishing Charters. Whether you're new to fishing or just looking for a laid-back day on the water, Captain Nick Ladner has got you covered. With room for up to 6 anglers, this private charter is perfect for families, friends, or even a solo trip where you'll get all the attention. We'll be targeting the local favorites - Redfish, Speckled Trout, and more - so get ready for some rod-bending action!
We'll kick things off bright and early at 6:00 AM, when the fish are most active and the water's nice and calm. Don't worry about bringing any gear - we've got all the rods, reels, and tackle you'll need to land the big ones. Our first mate will be on hand to help you bait up, land your catch, and anything else you might need. And the best part? You get to keep what you catch (as long as it's legal, of course). So not only will you have a great day out, but you might just be bringing home dinner too!
If you're new to inshore fishing, you're in for a treat. We'll be using a mix of techniques, from casting soft plastics around structure to bottom fishing with live bait. Captain Nick knows all the honey holes where the fish like to hang out, whether it's grass flats, oyster beds, or channel edges. He'll show you how to read the water, spot telltale signs of fish activity, and most importantly, how to set the hook when you feel that telltale thump. Don't worry if you've never held a rod before - by the end of the trip, you'll be casting like a pro!

"Great charter, not a huge boat, so personable experience. Capt Nick is great!" - Ryan N Lexi Grove-
Sheepshead: Don't let their stripes fool you - these guys are no jailbirds, but they sure are crafty! Sheepshead are known for their strong, human-like teeth that they use to crush crabs and barnacles. They're masters at stealing bait, so when you feel a nibble, set the hook fast! Best targeted around structure like pilings or jetties, sheepshead put up a great fight and make for excellent table fare.
Redfish: Also known as Red Drum, these copper-colored beauties are a favorite among Biloxi anglers. They've got a distinctive black spot on their tail, which some say is to confuse predators (or maybe just to look cool). Redfish love to cruise the shallows, often revealing their presence with their tails sticking out of the water as they root for crabs and shrimp. When hooked, they'll give you a run for your money with powerful, determined fights.
Southern Flounder: These flatfish are the masters of camouflage, blending in perfectly with the sandy bottom. But don't be fooled by their pancake-like appearance - they're aggressive predators with a mouthful of sharp teeth. Flounder like to ambush their prey, so we'll be dragging baits slowly along the bottom to entice them. They're not the strongest fighters, but the challenge is in the hook set - you've got to give them a moment to turn the bait before setting the hook.
Fishing with L'il Time Off isn't just about catching fish - it's about the whole experience. Captain Nick's local knowledge means you're not just going fishing, you're getting an insider's tour of Biloxi's waters. You'll learn about the ecosystem, pick up new fishing tricks, and maybe even hear a few local fishing tales (some of which might even be true). And let's not forget the excitement of never knowing what you might catch next - one minute you could be reeling in a speckled trout, the next you're battling a big redfish!
Ready to make some memories on the water? This trip is perfect for beginners, families, or anyone looking for a relaxed day of fishing with a chance at some real quality catches. With a low, non-refundable deposit of $700, you can lock in your private charter and start dreaming about the fish you'll catch. Redfish are a Biloxi favorite, easily spotted by that black tail spot. Most inshore reds run 20-30 inches, but the big boys offshore can top 40 pounds. Look for them in super shallow water - sometimes with their backs out of the water! They love hanging around oyster reefs, grass flats, and muddy bottoms. Fall is fantastic for redfish as they school up. Anglers prize them for their strong runs and excellent table fare. To hook one, try working a gold spoon or scented soft plastic slowly along the bottom. My go-to trick is fishing the falling tide when reds are forced out of the marshes - they'll stack up in deeper holes and channels.

Sheepshead are a fun catch around Biloxi, usually weighing 1-8 pounds and stretching 14-20 inches. You'll find these striped "convict fish" hanging around docks, bridges, and reefs - anywhere with barnacles to munch on. They're sneaky bait stealers, so set the hook fast when you feel a nibble. Spring is prime time as they gather to spawn. Folks love targeting sheepshead for their strong fight and tasty white meat, though cleaning them can be tricky. My local tip: use fiddler crabs on a light setup, and fish as close to the structure as you can without snagging. Just be ready for those human-like teeth when you land one!

Southern flounder are the ultimate ambush predators in Biloxi's waters. These flatfish typically run 15-18 inches but can reach over 30. You'll find them camouflaged on sandy or muddy bottoms in coastal areas, bays, and estuaries. Fall is prime time as they migrate to spawn. Anglers love flounder for their unique challenge and delicious, flaky meat. To catch one, try drifting or still fishing with live bait like bull minnows or mullet. My local secret: use a slow retrieve and feel for that distinctive "thump" when a flounder grabs your bait. Give it a second before setting the hook - these guys like to reposition their catch before swallowing.
